Works well for poetry
Personal Project
About
"Works Well for Poetry" began with a simple question: what happens when we stop looking for meaning and instead pay attention to what quietly insists on being there?
Created in dialogue with Manoel de Barros' poem about the usefulness of useless things, the project embraces chance as a method. The body, the city, and time become companions in the same drift. For countless days, I walked the same route, allowing repetition to reveal subtle differences, the kind that only emerge when the urgency to arrive gives way to the willingness to observe.
These journeys were translated into drawings, layered and reconfigured until they found new relationships with Manoel de Barros' words. Rather than illustrating the poem, the work shares its way of seeing: one that restores significance to what usually goes unnoticed, to what appears to have no practical purpose.
The outcome is both an installation and a publication, where visual elements and fragments of the poems coexist without hierarchy or fixed sequence. Like memory, like the city, and like poetry itself, meaning is never fully given. It emerges through the encounter.
